HUDA Annual Flower Show 2014 @ Leisure Valley, Gurgaon

A Blooming Start to Annual Flower Show
The Annual Flower show at Leisure Valley is happened on 1st & 2nd of March.

I visited the HUDA Flower show at Leisure Valley, Gurgaon on 2nd March. Being a flower lover, gardener and photography enthusiastic, it likes a paradise for me. There are lots of objects to catch your eyes, here are few of photographs that I would like to share with you all. My Kid also enjoyed a lot, it was fun filled Sunday for your family, Flower Festival, Photography, Gardening shopping and street Food.

According to a Huda official, more than 150 varieties of flowers are on display with over 100 participants from across the state. HUDA has been organizing this show since 1990 & the number of participants are increasing every year. I wish I will participate soon in the Flower show, hopefully next year if all goes well.

There are Rangoli competition also organized between schools and here is winner of that competition.

There are a lot of different categories such as gardening, potted flowers, cut flowers, terrace garden, hanging garden among many others and there are also awards to be won for these categories.
There were different varieties of Petunia, this blue shaded one caught my eyes..

Flower show is a nice experience for many people who are looking for a change as most of the other events in the city are Theatre, Music, Dance & Dining etc.

Hope you enjoy the beauty!!!
Happy Gardening to All!!!

Asiatic lily, Asiatic hybrid lily

Asiatic lily, Asiatic hybrid lily

The Asiatic Hybrids arise from the crossings of a number of species commonly found in Asia. The leaves are often lance like and borne in dense whorls on upright stems. The flowers tend to be large, colourful and faintly or unscented.

Orientals are characterized by large (6-8"); highly fragrant; red, purple, pink, or white flowers. Asiatic lilies have smaller blooms (3-4") with no fragrance and are available in bright shades of gold, yellow, orange, rose, pink and white.
Asiatic hybrids are generally early flowering, most varieties blooming in June. They range from 2 to 5 feet tall with 4- to 6-inch flowers in bright reds, yellows and orange as well as delicate shades of pink, lavender and creamy white.
There are two subdivisions: One includes hybrids with upright flowers; Another includes outward-facing flowers. The natural season for flowering of Asiatic lilies is late spring and early summer. Asiatic lily bulbs can be stored in coolers for forcing virtually year-round by freezing the bulbs.
COLOURFUL  Yellow and Orange.
